US Fish & Wildlife hoped the owner would retrieve the horses, however no inquiries have been made and therefore Umatilla County Sheriff's Office seized the horses and transported two out of the five horses to the newly established non-profit equine refuge, Buck Brogoitti Animal Rescue Inc. in Pendleton Oregon.  The Sheriff's Office is attempting to retrieve the remaining horses to transport them to the animal rescue.

Umatilla County Sheriff's Office is looking for anyone with information in reference to the five abandoned horses: anonymous reports welcome.  Please call Umatilla County 911 Communication Center, non emergency #541-966-3651 to help us find out who abandoned the horses on Cold Springs Reservoir approximately June 24, 2010.

Thanks goes out to Jaime Erwert for corralling the two horses, allowing the Sheriff's Office to transport the horses without incident.  Thanks goes out to Anita Nelson for donating bales of hay to the Buck Brogoitti Animal Rescue Inc. project.
